Its my feeling that DDD probably have the consumer version of the Rift as the target for a proper release of the drivers. Although this feels painfully far away for anyone here with a devkit, its probably where the larger audience is. Things have been very quiet lately.

For me I would far prefer some sort of ability to move hud items in-screen. Fingers crossed for the Virieo Perception 2.0 drivers releasing on thanks giving.

Hi

Just a quick quesrion.. im sure it has been asked before but i cant seem to find it,

I have a radeon 7970 and an oculus rift.. i would like to get the tridef drivers for half the price but it keeps saying ''Your graphics hardware may not support AMD HD3D Technology''

I have a normal 2d screen. Should i continue the purchase for half the price anyway or will it not work?

tnx in advance

The AMD HD3D checker doesn't seem to detect the HD79xx series. Didn't detect my 7950 as compatible, but I bought it at half price anyway and had no problems. Upgraded a couple of weeks ago to a newer AMD card and still works.

Btw, for other people looking at this deal, it's supposed to end Nov 30th.

Edit: I don't have a 3D screen either, only using it for the Oculus Rift.

I can fully understand that Tridef might need to put this project on the backburner to the rest of the suite, but it's beginning to feel like we are being ignored. :/
Come on guys, can you please let us know what's happening?

Yes, communication with us was great a couple of months ago, what happened? Can we expect any update soon?

I fixed it, Just used a reg I found in here over my version.

NOW.. What game would you recommend to accommodate with the rift?
I tried skyrim last night and it was unpleasant for me.

It can be a bit of a pita to get everything configured properly, did you get everything set up correctly?

I would recommend trying mario galaxy 1 or 2 using dolphin emu, being sure to set your world scale as high as it can go.
If you follow this thread you can even get it working with headtracking. :)
It's a blast!

Hi all, thanks for your continued interest in TriDef 3D's Oculus Rift support. We're working on some additional changes for future releases, but we wanted to release this new beta today to coincide with the TriDef 3D 6.0 release. The previous 3.7.7b1 could not be installed on top of TriDef 3D 6.0 (or Ignition 3.8 betas) so we've changed it to an "Add-on" package which can be installed on top of any TriDef 3D software (newer or older).

Download: TriDef-3D-Oculus-Rift-Add-on-1.0b7.zip

Changes in 1.0b7:
- Added support for 64-bit games.
- Oculus Rift support is now enabled by installing an "Add-on" package rather than an Ignition beta. This simplifies installation requirements (eg, can be installed on top of a newer Ignition Beta).
