Samsung S27A750D + radeon RX580 + Win10 64

Postby Norrin78 » Wed May 23, 2018 3:10 am

Hello,
I know tridef is kinda dead, but I've been trying to make this setup work with tridef and I can't manage:

Samsung S27A750D (used to work just fine a few years back with Win7 and a radeon HD7970)
Radeon RX580 (latest drivers, using DP)
Win 10 64 bits latest update (april 2018 I think)
Samsung tridef launcher (1.1.8)
Latest Ignition 3.10 beta 2

I tried it only with a game I know worked in the past (Titan Quest with steam) although the game has been updated lately.

I get all messages like it is working fine ("3D glasses connected to monitor", "watching 3D image"), but it seems that the picture is rendered in some sort of 2D lower resolution, with no 3D effect at all...

Tried 2 different goggles.

I'm wondering if I'm missing something here.

Do latest radeon drivers still work with tridef (and HD3D, since it pretty much disappeared)?
Could Win 10 create some problem (I noticed a 3D option in the display configuration)?
At least, should this setup work?

If anyone has any clue/advice/similar setup that works,

Thank you
Ryzen 5 2600X
Radeon RX580 (latest driver)
Samsung S27a750D (via display port)
Win10 Home 64 (1803)

OK so Deus ex: Human Revolution works fine (steam+native HD3D so without using tridef).
Will try with other games and tridef.
Wait & see

External design, support for DisplayPort, 120 Hz (DP)
through HDMI did not check the frequency. Disk with all the necessary drivers in the kit.
Turning 2D into 3D by the resources of the monitor itself is quite amusing.
