3-D Viewing In Photo Transformer
The 3-D Preview in Photo Transformer is used for several things:
- To see how well your Depth Map ./images a 3-D effect.
- To set the original 3-D Settings for viewing the TriDef Photo with other TriDef applications.
- To set the appearance of a 3-D Image for export.
Make sure that you have selected and calibrated your 3-D Display in the TriDef Control panel.
Tip: Double-click the icon in the System Tray.
Choose View > 3-D Preview.
The Full Screen checkbox gives you the choice of creating a small preview in a window or a full screen size. All Exports and TriDef Photo viewing tools use the Full Screen.
Tip: All Previews are shown in 3-D Mode, but you can switch between 2-D and 3=D using the keyboard shortcuts 2 and 3.
Set a 3-D Focal Point: click on the tool next to the slider and then directly on to your Preview.
Tip: You can also use the slider ot type a value into the box next to the slider. Choose the Value or Percent scale you are most familiar with.
Tip: See the end of this topic for more information about the 3-D Focal Point options.
Look for the 3-D Scene Depth slider and use it to select a 3-D Scene Depth value.
Tip: You can also type a value into the box next to the slider.
Click the Update Preview button, or press Enter.
Tip: Each time you update your Depth Map or any setting in this dialog you will have to click the Update Preview button to see the effect in 3-D. There is only one exception: if you use the tool to set the 3-D Focal Point.
Tip: Press H (Hide) to turn the 3-D Settings box on or off while a 3-D Preview is open.

If you do not want the Photo to Scale To Fit the window/screen, click the Scaling tab, then select the Custom Scaling checkbox. This will allow you to select either Pad With Black or Crop options.
To close the 3-D Preview Press Escape or click the Close Preview button.
Choice of 3-D Focal Point scales
The 3-D Focal Point corresponds to a specific depth value in your Depth Map. The following effects assume that the Depth Map of TriDef Photo you are working with uses the full depth range (white to black).
Percent (0-100%):
0% sets the 3-D Focal Point to the very back of the scene
50% sets the 3-D Focal Point to the middle of the scene
100% sets the 3-D Focal Point to the very front of the scene.
Value (0-255 gray scale):
0 sets the 3-D Focal Point to the very back of the scene
127 sets the 3-D Focal Point to the middle of the scene
255 sets the 3-D Focal Point to the very front of the scene.
