TriDef Photo Transformer - Guides

Transparent Points

Transparent Points help to define objects more clearly, by telling Photo Transformer where to ignore nearby Depth Data points, and instead use the Background Ramp to create the Depth Map.

Use Transparent Points when your foreground objects are similar in color or shading to the background (e.g. a blue boat on the ocean), and you find that the Depth Map 'bleeds' over the edge of the foreground object. Adding Transparent points around the outside of the foreground object constrains the Depth Data to the required area. [Example]

Transparent points are red and you 'paint' them over your image the same way you do Depth Data.

To switch between painting Depth Data and Transparent points, do one of the following:

  • Click the red Transparent box at the bottom of the Toolbar. (click a gray depth value to switch back)
  • Press T

To erase Transparent points:

Use either the Erase Tool Erase tool or the Erase Tool Box Box Erase Tool to remove Depth Data and Transparent points.

Tip: You can also delete both Depth Data and Transparent points by selecting them, then pressing Delete.
