Selection Tools
There are four Selection tools in Photo Transformer, all found on the Toolbar.
Tip 1: All keyboard shortcuts for Selection tools include the Shift key.
Tip 2: Holding Shift while selecting ADDS points to the current selection.
Tip 3: Hold Alt while selecting REMOVES points from the current selection
The Point Selection tool selects single points by clicking on them, or all the points covered in a 'brush stroke'. It can be used to finely adjust a larger selection. The keyboard shortcut for this tool is Shift+P.
Tip 1: Holding Shift while selecting ADDS points to the current selection.
Tip 2: Hold Alt while selecting REMOVES points from the current selection
The Freehand Selection tool selects areas of any shape. The keyboard shortcuts for this tool are S or Shift+S
The Polygon Selection tool selects areas of odd shapes with straight edges. The keyboard shortcut for this tool is Shift+G
The Box Selection tool selects rectangular areas. The keyboard shortcut for this tool is Shift+B.
Drawing Tools Freehand Drawing
The Freehand Drawing tool adds Depth Data points as single points or free drawn lines. The keyboard shortcut is F.
Advanced Tips:
Temporarily change to the Erase tool as long as you hold the Ctrl key.
Temporarily change to the Eyedropper tool as long as you hold the Alt key.
Linear Drawing
The Line drawing tool adds a straight line of connected Depth Data points from mouse click to mouse click. The keyboard shortcut is L.
Advanced Tips:
Temporarily change to the Erase tool as long as you hold the Ctrl key.
Temporarily change to the Eyedropper tool as long as you hold the Alt key.
Box Drawing
The Box Drawing tool is dragged to create a filled rectangle of Depth Data points. The keyboard shortcut is B.
Advanced Tips:
Temporarily change to the Erase tool as long as you hold the Ctrl key.
Temporarily change to the Eyedropper tool as long as you hold the Alt key.
Elipse Drawing
The Ellipse Drawing tool draws a round shape filled with evenly spaced Depth Data points.
The keyboard shortcut is E or Shift+E
Advanced Tips:
Temporarily change to the Erase tool as long as you hold the Ctrl key.
Temporarily change to the Eyedropper tool as long as you hold the Alt key.
Polygon Drawing
The Polygon Drawing tool draws straight lines of Depth Data points from mouse click to mouse click. Double click to close the shape. The keyboard shortcut for this tool is Shift+G.
Advanced Tips:
Temporarily change to the Erase tool as long as you hold the Ctrl key.
Temporarily change to the Eyedropper tool as long as you hold the Alt key.
Flood Fill Drawing
The Flood Fill Tool changes all the Depth Data points in a selection to the currently selected depth value. If your selection is made up of more than a single 'chunk' of points, the Flood Fill Tool will still replace the depth of all points, regardless of where you click to apply the tool.
The keyboard shortcut for this tool is Shift+F.
Erase Tools
There are two Erase tools in Photo Transformer, both found on the Toolbar.
The 'plain' Erase tool erases Depth Data points or Transparent points as you pass over them with the mouse.
The keyboard shortcut to change to this tool is D or Shift+D,
Advanced Tip:
Temporarily choose this tool from any Drawing Tool ( ) long as you hold Ctrl.
The 'box' Erase tool is dragged to create a rectangular region, and everything inside that rectangle is erased when you release the mouse. The keyboard shortcut is M or Shift+M.
Eyedropper Tool
The Eyedropper tool allows you to sample a depth value from either Depth Data points you have added yourself, the Background Ramp, or the Depth Map. The keyboard shortcuts to select this tool are Cor Shift+C
In 3-D Preview Mode, the Eyedropper tool is used to select the 3-D Focal Point. They keyboard shortcut for this tool in Preview Mode is Y.
Advanced Tips:
While using any Ramp tool ( \ ) , you can select two depth values by holding Alt. and dragging from one depth value to the other.
While using any Drawing Tool ( ) you can temporarily select this tool long as you hold Alt.
Pan Tool
The Pan tool shifts the view of the image and Depth Data without using the scroll bars. The keyboard shortcut for this tool is Space, but only as long as the key is held down.
Advanced Tips:
Zoom In with Ctrl+Space+Click
Zoom Out withCtrl+Alt+Space+Click
Replace Depth Tool
The Replace Depth tool replaces the depth value of points you paint with the currently selected depth value, and does not add any more Depth Data. The keyboard shortcut for this tool is P.
Zoom Tool
The Zoom tool makes the image look bigger or Press Alt, and click to Zoom out (make the picture smaller) smaller.
When this tool is selected you can drag over part of the image to concentrate on just that part.
The keyboard shortcuts to switch to this tool are: Z or Shift+Z.
You can Zoom in or out without having to click at all by using the following shortcuts:
Ctrl+Space or + (Zoom In)
Ctrl+Alt+Space or - (Zoom Out)
