TriDef Media Player
Overview
TriDef Media Player enables the playback of a wide range of 2-D and 3-D movies and photos, including open format media files on variety of 3-D Displays.
With TriDef Media Player you can...
- Play existing TriDef format files including TriDef Photos, TriDef POPverts and TriDef Movies
- Watch standard defintion 2-D DVDs in amazing high impact stereoscopic 3-D at run time with TriDef 2-D to 3-D Conversion technologies
- Play a wide variety of open format 3-D media files (.avi, .mpg, .jpg, etc) named in adherence to the 3D File Naming Conventions
- Play 3Di DVDs on your stereoscopic 3-D display
- Play a wide variety of 2-D media files (.avi, .mpg, .jpg, etc) in stereoscopic 3-D at run time with TriDef 2D-to-3D Conversion technologies
- View thumbnail previews of TriDefPhoto files in Windows Explorer
Please Note: Some media files will not play unless the required codec is installed. Please refer to our codecs section for more information.
What's new in TriDef Media Player 6.2?
- Added support for DVD playback (replaces TriDef DVD Player)
- Added a new Auto 3-D mode: UltraSmooth
- In addition to replicating TriDef DVD Player's support for InterVideo WinDVD decoders, TriDef Media Player also supports CyberLink PowerDVD, and the Open Source (MPV/MPA) decoders
- DVD Bookmarks are supported, including auto-saving the playback position on exit
- Side by side (LRQ, RLQ) 3-D DVDs are now supported
Other recently introduced features:
- Added Samsung DLP(R) 3-D HDTV and HYUNDAI IT P240W displays.
- JPS files are now supported
- Impoved 2D-3D conversion for dark regions, such as closing credits.
- Added an "Extreme Quality" option. Turning this on will slightly improve the 2-D to 3-D conversion quality, but may have a negative effect on playback performance. Extreme quality is off by default
- Created the "-2d" file naming convention. This forces an item to be displayed in 2-D
- Created the "-anaglyph" (or "-ana") file naming convention. This allows a pre-rendered 3-D Anaglyph to be displayed on any supported 3-D Display
- In addition to the existing "Vivid" 2-D to 3-D conversion mode, a new "Smooth" mode has been created. Use 'Ctrl-3' to switch between "Vivid" and "Smooth" modes. The choice will be persistent across restarts. "Smooth" is now the default mode
- TriDef POPvert playback has been added
- Various zoom and pan controls have been added
- When a movie is paused, arrow keys can now be used to step forward/backward one frame at a time
