TriDef Control Panel - Tutorials

Selecting a 3D display type

The TriDef Control Panel allows you to specify which of your two monitors is the 3-D Display, and which 3-D Display model you have. Once you have specified your 3-D Display you are advised of the recommended resolution and refresh rate for that Display.

The 3-D Display you choose in the 3-D Control Panel will be used by all TriDef applications to create 3-D, but there are some cases where you may want to specifiy a different type of 3-D Display. This usually happens if you are doing work for someone else. Where this is the case, the Help for that product will explain.

The selection of a 3-D Display is a user based setting: if you are setting up a machine for another person to use, either use a common login or double check the setup on both user accounts.

  1. Open the TriDef Control Panel

Tip: Double-click the TriDef Control Panelicon in the System Tray, or

Start > (All) Programs > DDD > Utilities > TriDef Control Panel

  2. Click the Settings tab

  3. Look under 'Current 3-D Display'. If the Manufacturer and Display Model do not match your current 3-D Display, change them.

Tip: For 2-D, anaglyph or interlaced output, choose '(Standard Display Types)'.

  4. Look under Display Location and click Show...

  5. Select the number which appears on your 3-D Display

  6. Once you have chosen the correct type and location for your 3-D Display you will need to check your display resolution and refresh rate and then Calibrate and/or fine tune it.

  7. See 'Dealing with cloned displays' if your 2-D and 3-D Displays show the same image.
